Dive into techniques such as wet-on-wet painting, gestural strokes, and impasto layering as you navigate the realm of Gestural Abstraction. Embrace a mindset of curiosity as you explore the interplay of color, surface, mark-making, and texture, unlocking endless creative possibilities.

About the instructor:

Ava Mcnamee is influenced by movements of color, and action painting, Ava Mcnamee’s paintings are the result of a process of disclosure, drawn from her own life events, dreams and observation of nature in repose. Mcnamee has been the proud recipient of the Gonzalez/Edwards travel grant to Spain from the Art Student’s League. Mcnamee’s work has been shown at the Phyllis Harriman Gallery and one of her paintings is currently being exhibited at The Billy Holiday Theatre in Brooklyn. She also has a painting in the permanent collection at The National Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem. ARTIST IG: avamcnamee and mcnameeartstudio.
